Just thought that since I got a fair bit in I'd share the images of what I've done so far to upgrade the audio in my TB. The Amp I've got set up. RE Audio DTS 500.4. Decided to put it in the little compartment in the cargo of my TB, as I wanted a very stealth install and lacked good places...

Wait, so the chime will go away if I install new speakers? I'm about to install some myself and wanted to just connect them to factory wires.

I can't really answer any of these questions as I'm learning to, but I still got all of my four speakers to work. They didn't work at first, but I noticed that after I had to get a burnt out wire replaced, they worked again. Just a fair warning.

Funny Hardtrailz. Anyway, got the thing in. Also got the amp grounded. No connection to the H/U or speakers yet as it got too dark at that point. Tomorrow will do H/U and speakers with luck.

EDIT: Got a friend to link me to the adaptor kit at Walmart. Said friend is GM certified for Audio and engine parts so yay. Gonna pick that up tomorrow and get this thing actually freaking started.

Okay, so I was going to install the amp, and kinda ran into a small issue. As it turns out, the hole to insert the bolt through for the battery to connect the amp to the battery is just a smidge to small to fit on the bolt. Anyone had a similar issue or has tips?

I do indeed have a socket wrench set. And though having a buddy would be good, none of mine actually have the experience, oddly enough. But thanks. I'll be looking into youtube vids and such as well from various perspectives before actually trying this. And I had a feeling that 3000 was a lie...

Yes. I am that much of a newbie and sheltered. Warned so in my intro thread. Anyway, just got my TB back from the shop. along with fixing my Power Steering, I had asked them to change my oil. They neglected to change my oil though, and I'm getting tired of bringing my car in every other day...

I don't think I can do it behind the panel. I don't have vents in my 03 like I've seen some people have in their TB's, which I'll guess is the one's that go the length of the panel, yes? Don't have those :/

As I had said in first post, it's an RE Audio DTS 500.4. Four 6.5 JV DVRM speakers that I will be installing.

Would that work? I had not thought about that. Would it be too close that it might pick up the electrical noise? Well ventilated?
