    This sounds EXACTLY like what happened to my 05 about 6 months ago. Turned out to be the fuse panel under the hood itself. Had to swap the entire unit and has been running fine since.

    For what it's worth, before my tune, I checked the throttle body for lag.... It had none. I think that might be the I6 only. Just don't remove all torque management. I have some at shift points (4L60Es are weak sauce)

    Take it you're going to do a mail order tune? I brought mine in to a dyno tuner. Not much more costly and much better results.

    Get a cam and tune... or even just a tune. That torque management KILLS the 5.3 Then, you'll really get a euphoric effect

    Low oil pressure (5.3)

    Off topic, but I had a bad pressure switch (pegged gauge at 80psi). I replaced it with a Standard switch and now it drops to zero every time I key up my CB radio... lol Just so everyone knows, buy OEM!

    miles per gallon with the v8

    Got rid of mine, but did the full delete. Had to, since I swapped the cam. I now have a much nicer truck to drive and no worries about oil consumption anymore. As for mileage, I'm getting 10-12 cty (new cam has me in the pedal a lot more... hehe). I am still getting around 20 on the hwy @ 70mph

    I didn't know Efans added quite that much. So, I guess between the fans and headers, that's where the extra 40 comes from. Now, I just need to find someone with 4WD that can confirm 100% that they have found a set of headers that'll work.

    Yes you do, my guess is that the pictures were taken out of order. If you don't want to do the leg work, Texas Speed has a complete DOD delete kit. You will need a non DOD cam and exhaust manifold gaskets to finish though. A few people have used DOD cams, but the success rate is low.

    The LS7 lifters are recessed a bit more. You'll want 7.425 pushrods. You'll also need lifter trays, headbolts, LS2 chain dampener, and timing chain wouldn't be a bad idea. Oil pump doesn't need to be swapped. Don't forget the obvious gaskets either. You'll need the truck tuned before...
