AWD to 2WD conversion possible on Rainier?

The Torsen center differential was only used in 6.0L V8 models. All others used 1 or 2 speed transfer cases with clutches and encoder motors. With proper steps, these can run in 2WD just fine. Probably best to remove front half shafts, front prop shaft, seal the front T-case output from elements...

    2006 LL8 - P0171 - Lean LTFT (+12-20%) - Intermittent MIL

MAP data seems correct. It is original. I have another known good I can swap in. Are these known to go bad?

    2006 LL8 - P0171 - Lean LTFT (+12-20%) - Intermittent MIL

OE and OE. Thanks for your help! I will start looking at the exhaust system. One thing I failed to mention is that I also suspect that the Secondary Air system. I took the hose off the valve at the manifold and plugged it. Lean condition persisted. Any further testing warranted there?

    2006 LL8 - P0171 - Lean LTFT (+12-20%) - Intermittent MIL

Looking for some help with an ongoing and unresolved issue. This started 6-9 months ago and has been the same issue and symptoms since. Issues/symptoms: Intermittent MIL - will come on/go off every 3-6 run cycles. P0171 - Lean bank 1 No other powertrain codes LTFT is consistently +12-20%...

    Steering Racks across models

Hello, I have come across an interesting conundrum. Right now I have a '07 TB LS (4.2i), '07 Saab 9-7x (4.2i), and '08 TBSS. All three of these vehicles have a different ratio steering rack; 20.1:1, 18.5:1 and 16.0:1. I am wanting to get a reman rack for the Saab as its leaking bad and...

    2007 Trailblazer w/ LL8 - P0418 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Relay Control

Well. That was pretty easy to track down. It was damaged by driving over something. I think this must have happened a while back and the cold making the wiring brittle plus salt corroding it finally broke the conductors. You would think GM would get the wiring above the fame rail... All is...

    2007 Trailblazer w/ LL8 - P0418 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Relay Control

Wow. If that code truly is narrowed down to that single circuit that is impressive. I just checked fuse. It looks good. That was all I was up for tonight. Haha. I'll have a look at the relay and test the circuit tomorrow. After roadie mentioned the pcv or lack thereof I did a little...

    2007 Trailblazer w/ LL8 - P0418 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Relay Control

Also, to add a little more fuel to the fire, here is the solenoid for 2006-2009 trucks. Probably the best price around. ACDelco 214-2151 Air Check Valve : Amazon.com : Automotive

    2007 Trailblazer w/ LL8 - P0418 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Relay Control

Great info roadie! So it's just effectively mixing filtered air with overly rich exhaust gas. The pump probably has to be powerful to overcome the pressure from the exhaust manifold. I will remove the hose first and then probably the solenoid. For cleaning or replacement. I need to clean my...

    2007 Trailblazer w/ LL8 - P0418 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Relay Control

To clarify, this is the system in question: And the pump is GM 10373306 (#6), while the solenoid is GM 12619110 (#2). What exactly does this system do? What is it purging? Directly into the exhaust manifold? Is this part of the PCV system? Thanks!

    2007 Trailblazer w/ LL8 - P0418 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Relay Control

I can't believe that either a) a topic on this does not exist, or b) that I couldn't find it. Searched here and trailvoy. Anyway, 2007 Trailblazer with LL8. 103,500 miles. In Denver where it just got down to 10-20° F. Never had any issues up until this point. Now getting P0418. I can also...

    Brake differences

Good point. Didn't realize the 5.3 wasn't available in early SWB models. It does look like the 2004 rainier had a V8 though. But no 2003 SWB had a 5.3 that I can find. And the 04 rainier uses bigger brakes. As does the the 05+ V8 Envoy, TB, etc, so it appears every V8 had bigger brakes.

    Brake differences

Correct, all LWB models regardless of engine have bigger brakes, but I believe the 2003-2004 SWB V8 models share brakes with the 4.2L SWB models. The chart reflects this. If incorrect, someone let me know.
