Has anyone thought about converting a TB/Envoy to a manual or stick

I seem to remember limequat bolting a manual transmission to his 4200 Supra project using an H3 or SSR bell housing. Can't remember the details.

What did you do to your GMT today?

I pretty much replaced everything in the front end over the last week. Finally got new tires and an alignment today.

    New rear springs, new noise.

Just an update. I jacked up the rear again and still couldn't see anything wrong. I decided to just leave it for now, since I can't hear anything while driving. I have to jump up and down on the bumper to hear it. I'm starting to think that maybe the sound is coming from somewhere else. Maybe I...

    New rear springs, new noise.

It made the noise with the shocks disconnected. Are you saying the springs are directional? I couldn't tell the difference. If they are directional, I'm sure that's the problem.

    New rear springs, new noise.

Maybe, I didn't realize they were directional. I thought it fit snugly. Maybe I need to go back and look again. I looked at it for a while trying to figure out what might be wrong, but everything looked good to me.

    New rear springs, new noise.

I installed new springs, now I have a metal on metal rubbing noise when I jump up and down on the rear bumper. The sound isn't very noticeable when driving. It's a SWB with wiener dog springs and one inch lift spacers. I thought at first the top rubber insulators had fallen off during the...

Leaking front drivers side axle seal

Seems like he gave you a good price for things you don't need.

    What are you doing today?

Went to change lower control arms and struts and am ending up changing just about everything in the front suspension

    Lower Control Arm

Going through this right now myself. The Trailblazer is out in the garage torn down as we speak. I'm not sure what can stay and what has to be removed for the swap, since I'm changing just about everything. Yes, separate the tie rod. I've done this a couple times now. I don't have to remove...

    Alternator rebuild.

He cut off a terminal on the voltage regulator,is that what you're taking about? The newer updated regulator only uses one terminal instead of 2. So you can cut the unused lead off. Good point, the windings just pull right out.

    Alternator rebuild.

I've gotten a couple messages from people interested in how I rebuilt my alternator. So I thought I'd offer some tips for those that want to attempt this. This is the kit I used. I found a discounted open box kit on Amazon and was able to save some money...

    Alternator rebuild.

I used Amazon prime to order the kit, so I had to wait 2 days. That 2 day wait for the kit gave me time to figure out how to tear down the alternator. We were down to 1 car and it was manageable for us. I saved over $100. I thought it was going to be easier. I've done a few in the past for...

    Alternator rebuild.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I ended up finding a very helpful YouTube video. I ended up following their advice and used red loctite and staked all the way around the bearing. It was a bear driving the new bearing in, even with my 4lb mini sledge. There's no way that thing is going anywhere.

    Alternator rebuild.

Any other ideas? Can't find any bearing retaining compound locally, and I need my car. Plus, it's REALLY expensive.
