It appears the problem is the earlier trucks 02-03 possibly 04 with the o2 sensors. As for the question about bolts we use grade 5 bolts because in a high heat situation they tend to stretch rather than snap off. We use these type of bolts on all of our headers and have been for years so this...

Its not the heater code itself it is keeping the O2 hot enough to perform its job.
