    power steering line identification

on my '03 TB with 4.2L, I was wanting to replace the power steering line(s) that run through that rubber block on the driver side inner fender. I removed the rubber block and the one line was super flaky rusty while the other one wasn't yet. I ordered the 2 return power steering lines that i...

    high beams stay on

wow, thank you for the pics and information. now, for me to figure out the problem, how should I test those two wires; the light green and the black/white wire? While the high beams are stuck on, should either wire be hot? I do have a multimeter, i just need to know what to look for with those...

    high beams stay on

surely the problem is either the turn signal/multifunction switch or the BCM, correct? Is it the BCM that's attached beside the underhood fuse block? isn't a BCM under the left rear seat too? Which one would control the high beams? Which would you suggest changing first as it may be the...

    high beams stay on

hmm... I dont know if i should attempt that. My next question is how the heck did the high beams get on to begin with? I never turned them on. The turn signal switch never got pushed forward to high beams today and i never saw the high beam indicator on the instrument cluster. I sure hope it's...

    high beams stay on

I did swap the relay with the one next to it and still the same behavior. Once the high beams are turned on, they stay on until the relay is removed. Then when it is reinstalled, they stay off until they are manually turned back on.

    high beams stay on

on my '03 TB today, once i got home and shut it off and went to walk in the house, i turned around and the high beams were on. The headlights were on this afternoon while driving because of rain, but I never turned on the high beams nor was the indicator on. So I tried different combinations of...

Gas tank venting issues can't fill

on mine, it was the charcoal canister was plugged. i'd taken the vent line off going to the tank and blew through it and could hear it blowing into the tank. i took off the vent line going to the vent valve and could blow through it fine. The only thing left that it could have been was the...

NEED HELP overheating 2002 TB EXT

So you are saying that the computer messes with what the temperature gauge shows just like it does for the oil pressure gauge? I have seen it explained why GM did that with the oil pressure gauge, but why with the temp gauge? Is it because like was just stated, that the 4.2L likes to run at like...

    oil pressure gauge

OMG that is terrible that it's that low once warmed up! With newer engines supposedly with such tighter tolerances, i find it hard to believe that GM was ok with that low of an oil pressure. But obviously it doesn't negatively effect these engines because look at how long they are lasting!!!

    oil pressure gauge

It has been said on here multiple times that our TB's oil pressure gauge isn't an accurate reading of the oil pressure and that the ecm just calculates certain factors and then shows a calculated guesstimate for oil pressure. Does anyone know why GM did that? Has anyone put an actual oil...

power steering whine and starting in extremely cold temps

I just bought a new battery and installed it so hopefully that fixes the slow starting. And yes, it's the power steering that whines when extremely cold. I've done car maintenance since the early 90s so i am sure that's what it is. I just wasn't sure if others notice it when extremely cold too...

power steering whine and starting in extremely cold temps

i noticed yesterday for my cold drive to town that my power steering had a noticeable whine to it. It was 0 degrees F and it was quite loud for a few seconds upon startup and then i could hear it with higher rpm's all the way to town and back which is 8 miles away. I've never had a vehicle that...
