Rear HVAC actuator repair - snapped off shaft. What to do now?

Sorry Harpo, we put the truck back together witht he actuator inside, disconnected the flap door. Since we don't need heat that often (we live in AZ) I made the executive decision to let it stay broken for now. At least it is not clicking. Thanks to the help of Roadie through some extra special...

Rear HVAC actuator repair - snapped off shaft. What to do now?

As I am digging into this rear HVAC, I started to wonder the worth of that door. What if we just remove it? We live in AZ and only use the a/c anyway. If the door #36 were not there, would it be a problem? Thanks in advance for your response.

Rear HVAC actuator repair - snapped off shaft. What to do now?

Dealer wants to sell items 35,37,36,9,8,7 all together as a kit for $100. I won't even need any of those other parts. Not very 'green' of GM, is it? Hubby on his way to Lowe's to get JB Weld now. May try to screw a tiny narrow screw through it as well...

Rear HVAC actuator repair - snapped off shaft. What to do now?

Replaced stereo today and disconnected the battery. Damn, I should not have done that because the rear HVAC actuator started clicking again. Husband and I took rear panel apart and got to the actuator. When we took actuator off, post snapped off. Oh crap. We tried to glue it back together with...

Brake light problems, dead battery, HVAC actuators, OH MY!!

I took off the 2 panels under the steering wheel, removed the heater duct and was able to get pretty good access to the switch. The hardest part was the unusual clip that attached the switch to the pedal. I used a screwdriver to pry that off, being careful not to bend it. I then wiggled the...

Brake light problems, dead battery, HVAC actuators, OH MY!!

I will tackle this tomorrow. Until then, I will pull the fuse. #34, right? Don't you think it is strange that the lights go on at night when the temperature drops? Have you ever heard of that? Why would that happen? Thanks for all your kind assistance. You don't know how valuable you are.

Brake light problems, dead battery, HVAC actuators, OH MY!!

I have removed the access panel and can see the switch. GM part #15163032. How would I adjust it? Would replacement be easier? It is in a tight and confined location with the steering column in the way. I took photos but was having a heck of a time trying to attach them.

Brake light problems, dead battery, HVAC actuators, OH MY!!

Just mentioning the girl thing because sometimes explanations get a bit too technical. I am actually the handy one in this family with the cars, home repairs, plumbing. I will figure this out, with the right direction, of course. Thanks!!! I will post my results...

Brake light problems, dead battery, HVAC actuators, OH MY!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2004 Trailblazer with 87,000 miles. A few months back, we noticed my brake lights were on in the morning even though the car was not on. If we pulled the brake pedal forward, it would turn the lights off. My battery started to die on me...
