Intake tube vent into air box

Hey so i decided to mess around a bit today and slapped on a high flow air filter onto my stock air tuben my question is. Theres a sort of opening in the tube that goes into a hole in the air filter cover. I taped it off with electrical tape to start it and it seems fine during idle and when i give it throttle. My question is wether its safe to drive like that for a few minutes. I know it probably wont change anything about how it drives but i want to experience it myself so theres really no use telling me that. I just wanna know if i can drive it like this or not

Probably what you're talking about is the 1st resonator. It uses the filter air box itself as a resonator. I permanently taped it off too, no ill effects.

Cool yeah i just got home and taped it off with some thicker tape
