Vibration / shake when shutting off... WTF?

I noticed its doing the same on start-up... Any advice on checking the motor and trans mounts? I'll replace all three if that is the issue, but I would like to make sure before I throw parts at it.

Vibration / shake when shutting off... WTF?

Yeah Mooseman, it gives you a low frequency vibration when you turn it off. Maybe 3-4 jolts? Besides that it idles smooth as silk, and runs just fine... I'll give it some more time to see if it gets worse...

Vibration / shake when shutting off... WTF?

It shuts off, not really dieseling, just "shakes" as it shuts off... You can start it and shut it off repeatedly, and the issue is very consistent. Unlike dieseling, where it may run for a few seconds, or not. I will throw some fuel treatment in it to see, but I don't get the sense it is a...

Vibration / shake when shutting off... WTF?

My wife sends me a message at work today "my truck is making a weird sound when I shut it off..." We all know how that goes! I get home and take it for a drive. Besides the apparent wheel hub that sounds like it's going out AGAIN (I just replaced them both this summer...), I don't hear...

CD Load Error... Can you just replace the CD mechanism???

I found you can buy the parts from replacementradios.com

CD Load Error... Can you just replace the CD mechanism???

Hey guys, we have the dreaded load / unload CD error... I found a potential fix for it at "the other site," but that wasn't our problem. The CD player will not take the CD in, or eject it at all. I can load it and unload it with tweezers, and it works just fine, but that isn't convincing for...

CD player won't eject or load a CD...

I have to use tweezers to push the CD all the way in, or grab the CD to remove it... Anyone have a fix for that? I figure I probably need to replace the whole radio. From what I have read, it looks like I would need to have the Stealer reprogram the new radio / CD player for it to work...

    Factory radio replacement

Anyone have any how to's to removing the radio? Ours will not eject or take a CD. I have to use tweezers to load and remove... If someone has a fix for that, let me know... How much is the reprogram at the Stealer?

Outer tie rod rubber boot. Where can I find one???

I tore one when I was replacing the axle shaft. I haven't found anyone that sells a replacement boot, and not the whole tie rod end link... The aftermarket ones don't seal up very well either. Anyone know where to get one? Thanks

Not the CV or axle shaft, oh boy, now what?

Mystery SOLVED!!!  :celebrate: :woohoo: It ended up being a hub. Pretty sure it was the driver side, but I replaced both to be sure. I've had to replace several hubs in the past, but this one was odd... When I've had them fail in the past, you would get the occasional...

Not the CV or axle shaft, oh boy, now what?

I can tell you what it is not... It is NOT the disconnect. I took it apart, and all looks fine. My plan in the morning is to reinstall the disconnect, but leave the axle shaft out. Then, pull the driver side axle shaft out. Reassemble without axle shafts and front driveshaft. Plug up the...

Not the CV or axle shaft, oh boy, now what?

Ok guys, here's an update... This thing is really making some noise now, it's getting pretty loud. Still gets louder turning right, and about goes away turning left. I took the driver's side hub off, but it seems ok to me. It's tight, and I don't really get any noise out of it. I pulled...

Not the CV or axle shaft, oh boy, now what?

SirRobin53, When your disconnect was shot, did the grinding change when turning left or right? I get a higher sound turning right, and nearly no noise turning left... What you would expect from a driver side wheel hub... I think my game plan for next weekend is pull the passenger side axle...

Not the CV or axle shaft, oh boy, now what?

Just had a thought (brace yourself...) :dunce: Could I just remove the driver side axle shaft and the front drive shaft? This would (should) isolate the diff, since the disconnect would be open and the passenger side would not be turning the intermediate shaft. That way I "should" be able to...

Not the CV or axle shaft, oh boy, now what?

It wasn't low on diff fluid, and I changed it as a part of this process. I'm a little weary of throwing parts at it, so I may pull both axle shafts to make sure it's not a wheel bearing before I go too much further. If it is a wheel bearing, it's a ventriloquist... Thanks!
