05 rainier V8 oil pressure gauge goofy

oil pressure analog guage goes to 0 after 100 mile drive. Then reads normal after Buick cools. Idiot light does not come on.

Any suggestions?

That thread is not really related since he's not getting a code or idiot light/message. Sounds more like the stepper motor in the gauge itself is failing. Are you getting engine noises when it goes to 0? Best thing would be to get pressure readings from the PCM through a scanner or a Bluetooth interface and Torque. If the pressure on torque stays up when it goes to 0 on the gauge, it's definitely the stepper motor.

No noise or smoke temp guage stays normal. Will check on stepper motor hope is not too expensive
