Hello All,

A few years back my drivers side rear speaker stopped working and I replaced it with a cheap style Jenson PowerPlus 525 speaker. It worked but the sound was always really low compared to the front speakers. Well I just realized that the passenger side rear isn't working now so my question is what is a good replacement speaker I should be looking for? I don't care if I get it at WalMart or any other quick shop. Is there a certain wattage or other specification I just need to look for when getting a speaker for both sides?

I looked at the stock Bose speaker to see if there were any specifications on it that I can easily compare other models but this speaker had nothing on it except of Made In Indonesia and a model #. If I have a Bose system shouldn't the speaker at least say Bose on it with a bit more information? I've pasted some pictures for your review.

Thanks so much !

I have Bose too but I have no idea of the impedance neither. If the replacement you got is playing too low, then I would suspect the impedance you got was higher than the Bose.

I have a full setup taken out of a junker. I could try and measure the ohms with a dmm.

Let me know what results you get if you ever do it.

I'm going to do some more research and i'm sure I'll find an answer somewhere.

Thanks !

Here are my measurements:

Mid range (rear door): 2.4 ohms
Sub (front door): 1 ohm
Tweeter (dash): 3.7 ohm

As reference, I measured a cheap 6x9 dual that said 4 ohms and I got 3.7 ohms.

So if you found something in 2 ohms it should work. I don't think 3 ohm speakers exist.

Whoaaa, you mean you can't believe everything you read on the internet :duh:

Thanks for the information Mooseman. I'm going to head to my local audio shop after work today and purchase 2 rears which are rated at or around the 2.4 ohms you stated and hopefully I get some sound back.

Thanks again !!
