Hey guys, I have a 2004 Trailblazer and my air is not working. The clutch kicks on and off, but nothing but hot air. I figured I have had the vehicle for roughly 5 years now and have never messed with the a/c, so i thought it was just low. I bought a can of freon and as soon as I hooked up the hose, the gauge on the can jumps straight up in the red "warning" indicator. When the clutch disengages, the gauge drops back down to normal. Still nothing but hot air. Any thoughts to why when the clutch kicks in that the test gauge would jump up that high?

when you have the AC on check for condensation or feel for cold AC plumbing inside the engine bay.. feel that tin can in the left corner by the firewall... if it's cold, then you probably have an actuator that decided to quit on you......

You'll need to go to a professional as the behaviour is contrary to what it should be doing. When the compressor kicks in, the pressure on the low side should drop and then the low pressure switch turns off the compressor and the pressure should slowly rise. Yours is doing the opposite. I think you're either overcharged or there is a blockage somewhere and the high pressure switch is kicking in.
