I have a 2006 SAAB 9-7X, with 159k. The air springs do not work when warm, but inflate when cold (although they do not hold air). I am going to replace the units with a pair from Arnott, but was just wondering why????

Compressor works great! That is one reason I do not understand. I would think they would not inflate when cold........

As I said, they do not hold air however......when cold they retain a little, when warm....nothing. I have just received my new bags. I am just really curious, is it a bag problem? Or.....?

The compressor unit has solenoid valves for pressure fill and dump that could be temperature sensitive.

...so this could be the problem???? The compressor keeps working until the overheat sensor shuts it off. If I shut off the ignition, then restart, the pump restarts......

Sure could be. Arnott also sells compressor replacements.

Or you could yank the entire system out and put in coil springs as many other members do so you won't have to troubleshoot a complex and expensive system ever again.

Put new air springs on....still not pumping up...maybe marginally. Am going to the dealer and checking on a rear spring sensor malfunction which would require a recalibration.

You will be buying a new compressor unit....it's almost always the compressor.
