Hi guys, I think I have a charging issue I'm hoping you can help me with. The last 2 previous winters i had no problems with my charging system or battery, I did replace the battery as a preventative measure last year with a diehard gold series. this past summer I did install an external tranny cooler with a gauge (gauge lights up when acc. are on), a double din head unit, back up camera, brake controller and a small amp and sub (the amp is powered off the rear fuse box). This winter is the first winter for my envoy as a non-daily driver and its running a bunch of extra accessories. early this winter I didn’t have any problems I could let my truck sit for 7-10 days without starting it and go to start it and have no issue. Now that it’s colder I've had a dead truck 4 times in the last 1.5 months, with only letting the truck sit for 4-7 days without starting it. I had a local shop test the battery and alternator and it is good (test was done with the alt & batt in the truck) could my issue be the extra accessories I’m running? also on a side note my charge light did come on before the last time my truck died, however the light on the dash wasn’t very bright, the red battery light on the dash was very dim, the only reason I seen it was it was at night, I probable wouldn’t of seen the dim light it if it was during the day. I did take my battery out after i noticed the light on the dash and put it on a slow 2amp charge for 8 hours and since then it has been good, until last night when I needed to move the truck to shovel my drive way, the truck started but the battery light on the dash was dimly lit up again. As a side note again the battery voltage gauge on the dash reads just over 14v. This is definitely getting frustrating as I didn’t have any issues this past summer after I installed all the extra accessories and if I remember right there was a couple times the truck sat for almost 2 weeks without being used and no issues starting. Does anyone have any idea of what might be my issue?
Thanks for the help
