CPA Routine Maintenance

at 170,000 miles, I decided to pull my CPA just to clean it. She runs well, but just decided to do a little preventive maintenance.

I found oil in the plug harness. The CPA is very clean. I bought a Delphi SL10064 ('03 - 4.2) just in case old one was bad. after reading some here I have 2 questions:

1. Should I replace the old CPA?

2. If so, should I use the Delphi SL10064?

From what I understand one of the signs of a bad (cam phaser actuator) CPA? is oil in the connector. They recommend changing it.

Had me confused, it's normally referred to as the CPAS (camshaft position actuator solenoid). But, yeah, oil in the connector normally means it's failing/failed.

Sorry, yeah the CPAS.

Ok, so it's probably failing but has yet to show any symptoms.

I cleaned the connector and put it back in (for now) since I needed to drive it. She drives great.

Is a Delphi considered OEM? Should I use it to replace the other one?

Delphi and ACDelco are OEM. Not sure about the part number for it though.

The only thing is to make sure it is the revised version, the one with the spring wraped around the screens. For lack of a better description.

Yep, that's the part # that matches the Delphi SL10064.

Yes, it is the revised version with the wrapped spring (good description).
