Envoy mirror/puddle light question

So I have a great idea for some exterior lighting that would use the plastic filler piece on the mirror since I don't have the stock turn signal/puddle lights but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the little plastic "cup" where the stock puddle/turn signal lights are at off. I can see there is a screw holding it on but I can't get to the screw to release the plastic piece. Any help would be appreciated, I'm ready to roll on this mod I just need this to get started.

I believe you take the screw out then the piece should slide off away from the mirror. Is that what you're trying or is it just not cooperating?

Correct, there are 2 small hooks built into the caps/lenses that help support themselves on the mirror assembly. After removing the screw, the caps/lenses slide forward a tad, and should come free.

Be gentle when removing the lens. I broke the outside plastic hook on my drivers side lens. Glued it back on though. Once the screw is out, push the lens towards the rear and then front of the vehicle a couple times to unseat the hooks before pulling down on the lens. I skipped this step and tried to pull straight down after the screw was out which is how I broke on of the plastic hooks.

Push your entire mirror ahead towards the front of the vehicle and you'll be able to access that screw.

Just one small correction to that video, it's not an Allen screw but a Torx, size 15 IIRC. And it may break due to rust.
