The stepper motor for the gauge could be bad

What does "not working right" mean? Does it work sometimes and not sometimes? Does it read a certain level all the time? Does the gauge do the normal start up procedure of going from one end to the other and back? Does it move at all? If not, the stepper motor could be bad.

When the truck starts it goes to full as im driving it moves back an forth from E to F

If that is the exact same behavior as it was before the fuel level sender swap, then yes, I would suspect the stepper motor. You can get them from ebay. Some folks swap all of them when they get in there to save having to go in later and do another one or 3.

It might still be worth inspecting the connections at the tank and as much of the wiring from there to inside the vehicle as you can get to.

Sounds like a plan. There are several videos on Youtube about swapping them out if you are unsure on how to do it.

Just made a post in the Technical forum on my gas gauge. My gauge works, sending unit is shot. Gauge sits on E unless I rock the Blazer from side to side or up and down, then it rises as long as I rock it, but drops back to E within seconds of stopping.

And I'm outside the 10 year 'deal' GM made for cover half the replacement cost.

Yea i have replaced the fuel gauge sensor i just replaced the step motors yesterday an still nothing so i just ordered a while new pump with a new sending unit so im hoping it works when inreplace that

Update on trailblazer: put a new fuel pump an sending unit in the truck gauge still does not work i was told its the wiring but that i have to take it to the dealer to get that replaced an im thinking thas gonna be alot if money

I would suggest that you inspect the "weather pack"
connector in the wiring at the tank area for corrosion
and spray with contact cleaner and add some dielectric
grease to the contacts.
