Headlight Assy Removal

I would like to remove my left headlight assy to acquaint my self with the procedure and be able to remove the plastic cover for oxidization removal. How is the bowtie strip separated from it ?

It is only clipped to it. Personally I like to remove the headlight and the grill panel in one piece, then spate the headlights so you can make sure none of the tabs break off. It only takes about 2 minutes. Are you interested in trading for a chrome crossbar by chance?

There's 4 clips across the top of the grille, 2 on the bottom at the corners, one behind the bowtie, and 2 on the bar in each headlight. The ones in the headlights can be a pain to pop loose for sure. Removing the headlights and grille as one piece is a good idea until those clips get loosened up (if you have to remove them a few times)
