'04 TB; l6; 160,000 miles. The vehicle was running fine, then the SES light came on. It still seemed to run ok for another 5 miles or so, then started missing/bucking. I pulled the code and of course it was P0014. After scouring the forums/threads, I replaced the CPS, CPAS, changed oil & filter, and reset the PCM. I've been code-free for 2 solid days, but it's still running rough. It actually feels more like the transmission than the engine .... bucking/jerking when under load ... almost like the tranny doesn't know what gear it wants to be in. I saw at least one other post where they complained of similar problems but the consensus was that they're unrelated. This seems like more than a coincidence now, but I agree ... they "seem" unrelated. Any thoughts/input/advice?

For the engine, it's almost obligatory around here to call for cleaning the throttle body as another starting point. Motor mounts are also a replacement item -- As especially on the passenger side the mount squishes down and it changes the geometry for the engine meeting the transmission.

In the transmission it might be actuator pistons. You could start with a pan drop and filter change if that hasn't been done in a while.

You might be leaking (slowly) transmission fluid from the cooler lines. Those rot out at about your age & mileage. Check your fluid level.

What brand parts did you use? We generally recommend oem especially for parts like you replaced. These motors are picky on vital electronics.

I cleaned the tb and reset the pcm sometime around aug/sept. I'm only using GM / AC Delco parts on everything I do. I use Mobil1 oil and filters. The tranny seems to shift properly through all gears - it only misbehaves when cruising above 40-50 mph or so. When I maintain constant speed, then let off of the gas, then get back into it, it acts like it doesn't know what gear it wants to be in.

I was thinking the 1-2 shift solenoid might be acting up, but after reading other posts it seems like it would throw a code if it was. I'm going to do a pan drop and fluid/filter change, and I'm wondering if I should just swap out 1 or both of those solenoids while I'm in there.
