Need to get new liftgate window for Envoy XL

I ran into an issue yesterday. When I opened my rear liftgate on my 03 Envoy XL, the rear window on the liftgate shattered. Seemed like an explosion of glass. I'm not sure what caused it since nothing seemed to be binding up and I was opening the entire liftgate and not just the glass. I was outside in a parking lot so it's not even that I opened it in my garage hitting the garage door opener.

On to my next issue. I called around to several junk yards and couldn't find a replacement. Finally found a yard that had several Envoys but they're more like a salvage yard and don't seem to have a cataloging system to look up specific parts to find what years are interchangeable. I also had to pull the part myself but for only $50, I was happy to do it. Needless to say, I pulled it from it from a standard Envoy and not an XL. I found out today that they apparently aren't interchangeable.

I was wondering if anyone happens to know what other years (or possibly other models) would fit my 03 Envoy XL.

All TB EXT and Envoy XL should fit. Last year for the LWB was 2006.

Have you tried car-part.com?

I'll check tomorrow to see what other models they had at their yard. I saw a few more but the truck I removed the window from was the easiest to work on. I saw a TB stacked on top of another car but don't remember if it was an EXT or not.
I'll look into car-part to get a back up plan in case this place doesn't have anything.

If you have full coverage insurance, you might be able to go that way. It's what I did on my xuv when my window fell.

The XUV is a whole different animal on its own so that's no good.

Most pick and pull yards have a return policy. FYI.

You can always search Craigslist. I've had decent luck finding some parts there. Your looking for an XL truck, so that means Ascender, Envoy, or trailblazer. If I remember correctly, the window struts are the most common cause for those rear windows breaking.
