radio problem.

sorry guys, don't know if this topic has come up before, but my wife called me with a weird problem. she said that the Bose system is not working. she said the radio comes on and everything is showing up on the radio, but no sound is coming out of the speakers, then when she shuts off the envoy and pulls the key out of the ignition the radio turns on. so then she said she went into aldi's and came out and got in the envoy and it barely turned over like the battery was half ways dead, and the radio was not working again. she goes to Wal-Mart, pulls the key and radio comes back on. has anyone had this similar problem? envoy is 2003 xl with 141,000 miles with all maintenance up date and this is 1st electrical problem we have ever had since buying used 3 years ago with right at 100,000 miles on it. I had planned on anyways next week while she and kids are in Branson on spring break, ripping out the Bose head unit and sticking in in dash flip out screen and alpine speakers. anyways please help.
