06 TB 4.2 4x4. Got in the TB last night, started it up to move it in the drive. Started fine, revs up fine and moved forward normally. Put it in reverse did not want to move at idle speed. More gas and it shutters and stalls. Happened several times. I drove it about 300 feet forward, going slow, seems normall. Tried reverse again same problem. Searched this forum for "shutters/stalls" came up blank. Your thoughts are appreciated. New info: the battery symbols appears to be lit faintly, but cranks and starts with no problem, definitely feels like trans issue.

I'm thinking gummed up transfer case or a locked on brake or differential issue.
How many miles, and what's your maintenance history on the fluids in the tranny, differentials and transfer case? Can you put it on jack stands and check for locked up brakes or emergency brakes?
What does your voltmeter say the battery voltage is, precisely?
