Stock nav = MP3 compatible?

Hey all,
So I had the idea of putting a lot of my music on MP3 data CDs and playing it in my Rainier with the nav system. Long question short, does the stock nav system recognize and play MP3 CDs? I can't find any indication one way or the other.

My dad and sister both have a saab 9-7x, one with the 6 disc and the other with nav, neither play mp3s.

Only stock radio that can play mp3s is this one, and I think its used in the Colorado.
The RPO code is US8

Good enough reason for me to go aftermarket.

One thing I never tried was burning a dvd-audio disc, might be worth trying. I know my 6disc in mine before I removed it had a dvd thingy on the screen that was never lit up. Might be worth a try.
