I have just Developed a leak which I have identified as coming from the bottom of the transmission cooler directly in the center. Leaks down onto the airdam and causes a long leak on the driveway.

I cannot locate a step by step procedure on the details of removing the trans oil cooler (removal of grill etc....). What all needs to be removed to get at it and how does it mount? A replacement oil cooler is relatively cheap a rock auto.

I see many posts on leaking lines at the cooler but my lines are not leaking.

Could anyone point me to a DIY of what i am in for in tackling this replacement? Momma getting rather upset with the rainbow streaks on the driveway asphault.

Thanks !

It's built into the bottom of the radiator and you change the entire assembly. Not sure I've ever seem a how to article outside of the shop manuals. Recommend you download the ones available here, or buy the Haynes manual at any parts store or Amazon. Most people just discover the process as they do the job.

Thanks Roadie,

Let me clarify my original post, the leak is coming from the fins in a cooler thats in front of the transmission cooler. Its directly above the bottom of the fan shroud. Its maybe 3" Tall by about 24" long. appears to be mounted to a bracket with two lines comin off it on the drivers side

Is this another transcooler ?? Do you know if I have to remoove the bumper cover and such to get at it?

Thanks again

Good. It'd be a shame to... STEER you on the wrong path :raspberry: and there folks was your crappy joke of the day.

Yup I did mine in January, spraying PS fluid everywhere.

Those hose clamps are in a very tight area. You may have to pull the cooler forward to get a good angle to reach them.

Rubber lines were a major PITA to get off. Fought for almost half hour. Everything else is easy to get off.

I wish I had some hose ring pliers when I did the job, something to look at getting.

on the bright side, if you have not changed the PS fluid before, now is a good time.
