Which spark plug for 05 trailblazer.

I just picked up a bunch of front end parts today and replacing them tomorrow. I want to also grab a set of ac delco plugs. I've seen a 41-103 iridium on the thread and it is an option according to the parts guy. He also said that he suggested a 41-834 platinum plug and that's what oem calls for. Any suggestions on the difference. A 41-103 is in. Stock and the 41-834 will be in by this weekend. It's a 2005 TB LS with a 4.2. Thanks

Don't have the part number offhand, but AcDelco/NGK Iridium plugs should only be used. If you use anything else in a gm engine they tend to run wierd.
 
Sounds good ill go with the 41-103 iridium ones like I've seen everyone else do. I don't understand why he's saying the computer suggests going with the others.
 
41-103 is what the majority here use.... if you can wait on shipping, you can most likely save a few dollars by ordering through rockauto...there's also a 5% discount code available...

if you have never gapped iridiums, youtube has a video, where you use needle nose pliers...

They are good for 100,000 miles, I think.

Read the cautions about not setting the gap.
 
RockAuto has a rebate still... when I ordered mine a few months back, it cost me like $33 shipped, I then received a rebate check for $12.00...

The computer knows that non-iridium plugs can wipe out our coils. The computer also works off of commission, so by cooking your coils, the computer can sell you coils. Brilliant!

In all seriousness, it's the same reason that Autolite offers plugs for our trucks but at the same time the Autolite rep says to never use their plugs in GM COP ignitions...it's all about money. At least the rep was honest.
 
I don't think the 41-103s were out yet in 2005, so the other part number may be outdated information. For our application, the 41-103 has superseded the old part so it's what to go with anyway.
