so I want to run my air intake without the box, does anyone know where to get a cap with hose clamp to cap off the giant hole on the top of the intake hose? I will be keeping the resonator that's bolted to the top of the engine basically everything will be stock except the air filter.

I'm not sure there is a clamp for that to be honest. It isn't really round, it is more like an oval. Maybe some food for thought would be to get a pipe like what you use for a CAI setup and run that instead of the stock rubber/plastic pipe that leads to the resonator where the air filter resides.

Kind of ghetto, but you could go to Home Depot and buy something like this;

It's in the PVC Isle and I've used one of them to temporarily cap-off an old cold air intake line once that I was experimenting with. Worked perfectly and can conform to a slightly off-round shape since it's flexible. There are a few different sizes available too.

Just an idea...

Why not just get a cheap eBay intake for our rigs, there's some that attach right to the intake resonator and then ones that attach right to the throttle body. Or are you just trying to keep everything under the hood stock?

Back when I was using my stock intake tube I had found these at the auto parts store in the "help me" isle. they are the largest available and are about 1 1/4" 2 in a pack. it fits the hole perfectly on top. just use some black gasket maker to glue and seal it down. mine held up fine and looked stock.

I thought about it but the stock one is fine, I just want to eliminate the stock intake box because it doesn't fit around the filter and with it being gutted now the hole is exposed to elements

Wait, are you saying the air filter cover, even gutted, doesn't fit over your filter?

Worst case, to plug that hole in the tube, just cut out a plastic disc, and use RTV to seal it over the hole. Since the intake is a vacuum, it's not gonna blow/fall off, and since the air will pass through the filter anyway, it's not gonna get sucked into the intake either.
