Below is my intro post from TrailVoy where I apparently erroniously registered first. Then some folk schooled me. So here I am.

To wit:

Hi!

Just bought a 2006 Chevrolet Traiblazer.

I
FREAKING
LOVE
THIS
TRUCK.

I live pretty far from work, so on days I can't ride the train in for whatever reason, I drive. Almost 200 miles round trip.

That being said, a long-term project I want to start is to put a turbocharger on my 4.2 I6 engine to not only help with gas mileage, but also because I hate my tires I understand this is quite the involved project. Wish me luck.

Also, I want to lift it, what works best for the LS? Any suggestions on sexy wheels/tires?

Anyway, I like this forum and have already used it to help me wrassle the spare tire down off of the secondary latch crap that GM poorly designed.

Talk to youz guyz soon, I'm sure!

Ray

Welcome! Dmanns67 is from Martinsburg and will have a few mods to showoff.

As far as lifting goes, there are a few proven options. Browse the build threads and see what you like. And checkout offroadtb.com if finances allow.

Beware the mod bug.

Edit: Did you say turbo? Checkout Cone's turbo Voy build!

Some guy put a vortec 4.2 turbo in a supra too. Not for mpgs though.

There is also the 4.3 Chevy V6 with a turbo from a 7.3L powerstroke all stuffed into a Datsun 240z that the cats from Hot Rod mag did in the latest episode of Roadkill. Can't beat that haha. Also not for MPG's. I wish I had dude's fab skills. Sad admission: I don't even know how to weld. That said, I surmise turbo-ing my TB is going to be one helluva challenge.

Here's an FAQ from our sister offroading forum. Which incidentally I started in motion the very week Vertical Scope bought Trailvoy - I was worried earlier than the other staff that trailvoy was about to go down the drain. I wanted a lifeboat for the offroaders to move to if necessary. It turned out to be necessary.

Haha. Funny how a tiny number of folks want to pretend the community is still alive and well. They're in such denial.

Jab, much? :raspberry:

Just kidding. I am glad I found this forum. I found Trailvoy because my darn spare tire wouldn't descend and i was about ready to cut the thing out with a torch. then when I joined Trailvoy, I was quickly, and dually informed of GMTN. And glad, I am, indeed.

I think a lot of us new members initially signed up on TV, only to be rerouted to our new home. Welcome. As Roadie said, you're going to love it here.

Welcome! Glad you came over! As I said over there we can't wait to see some pics of your ride and the build :).

Pics of how I bought it (which is how it sits) will come soon. Money's tight, but with the right influence and well petitioned Christmas/birthday gifts, I should have a slow build up starting soon. That turbo thing is gonna drain me.

Welcome aboard!

I always wanted to learn how to weld. Not because I wanted to be a welder, but because it looked cool when Jesse James did it on Monster Garage (yeah, we're going back at least a decade lol). The local votech high school ran an ad which offered a night class to learn how to weld. $100 got me (16) 3 hour classes which included all the supplies. I easily burned $100 in rods. Now I weld things on the side for extra money. That was the best $100 I ever spent.

Thank you all, I do indeed feel welcome. I haven't had this much fun on the infernets since I was 13 and in chat rooms. Thanks!

We pride ourselves in actually responding to Intro threads. On the other place, who's there anymore to say hello except one lonely goofball who answers Ignition Switch or Struts to any tech question?

Welcome to the nation! Lifted with a turbo, I can't wait to see this.
