Hi guys

I wonder if anyone has a leftover ECM for my Yukon?.

I have a slight suspicion that it might be contributing to my isoongoinsane P0011 code problem that I can't get rid of.
I have changed all other parts that could be suspects, and it is still popping up all the time.

Have you done the Cam/Crank relearn procedure?

If you have a Tech 2 Scan Tool ...there are some inexpensive ones available over on eBay from this list that could be re-calibrated for your 2007 GMC Yukon Denali:

What I understand that's not necessary if I only put in a new cam sensor and not touch the crank sensor. That is what my research told me. I might be wrong.
Is there a way to do that without a scan tool???.

There is not.

Do I have to do a relearn proc?

After seeing a million YouTube videos and read a ton of text,it was never ever even mentioned that it was necessary 🤔. Even answers from certified techs was it mentioned.

If it was a issue before the sensor was changed, it should be done.

Will it correct the problem?
Unknown. It could be a crank/cam correlation issue, it could be a cog on the wheel out of position, or with metal debris on it, there are a lot "ifs"..

But.

The Tech2 tool will allow you to read it fully to see what about the sensor is failing
Databus/CanBus
CanBus Integrity
Poor sensor quality

The only reason I steer you away from a ECM, I have only EVER had 1 ECM fail in my life, and I have owned about 100 cars/trucks.

Then even if you have a bad ECM, you now get to deal with the VATS, programming, VIN, and other issues.

So which parts did you replace? Did this engine even come with VVT? If it did, I would suspect the cam phaser before anything else. What about the timing chain? Maybe it jumped a tooth. If all that checks out or were replaced, I would replace the crank sensor and do a CASE relearn, which requires a proper scan tool.

Hi Mooseman

It does have VVT but no DOD fortunately.

I have changed the phaser magnet and cam sensor and I have changed the oil pickup tube O-ring that was completely square as always on these engines apparently.

I'm sure it don't skipped a tooth because it runs like a beast.

I works great as long as you drive at speed, but as soon you get down to say 30-40mph you feel a light shake in the engine/transmission and pow, the stabilitrak and traction control lights are lit and 3 pings.
When this happens I still drives fine but if you drive slow the gear Chang between i think is second and third gear is terrible violent, it really throws on the gear. But if you accelerates like normal you don't notice anything.

I always have to run Torque on my phone while driving so I can clear the pending P0011 code constantly. I was really pleased when I found that you can get Torque to automatically reset codes automatically.

It driving me nuts.

I'm a member there to, and a couple of other sites.

Moose, maybe you can move this thread to a more proper place and not in the Wanted section😂

Are you able to pull the EBCM codes? This may point to an issue with the EBCM that may affect the PCM in some way. Maybe an electrical or ground issue or the Stabilitrak is erroneously kicking in and pulling the throttle on the PCM. However, this would not explain the P0011 unless an electrical issue is also causing it.

I am wondering if its not TQ converter shutter. Dont know if that was a problem on the 2007's, but I know it was a problem on the 6L80

No, unfortunately not. I think I have to buy a more serious bidirectional scan tool for this matter, but I don't want to put to much money on that.

I only have Torque (paid version)

Anyone have a recommendation on that matter?, a Chinese Tech2 is to expensive for me unfortunately.
I have read that some have replaced the wireing harness for the cps and magnet, but I can't find one with 5 wires, Rockauto only have 3 wire harness Wich is kind of strange.

This is a very common problem with the 6.2l engine, there are posts all over the net about this. But never ever have I seen a " do this, this and that and it's fixed" solution. It seem like every poster just gives up. Except one guy on YouTube that have done in principle a full rebuild of the engine and thinks that it was when he put in new cambearings the problem got solved😂. I hope that is not necessary.

It has in the past happens a few times that I whith the P0011 code pending and stabilitrak light on drove in to a roundabout , and the engine just died on me. And refuse to start again.
I have then learned how to get it started without letting it get cold first.
Gas pedal to the floor and 3 to 5 start attempts and then it starts again. Sometimes it knocks/dieseling when you revs it a couple of times but that goes away quickly. Just like the timing is really off.

One time when I was on cruise control at 70mph it started to really struggle up a very mild incline, I disconnected the CC and put my foot on the pedal and it was totally out of power. When I let go of the throttle it just died.
Rolled to the side of the road and, no start. After I did my starting trick it run just fine for the rest of the way. At just this incident I had No codes and no lights🤔.

Like I said, it drives me crazy🤯

You can do it with the TQ app... I know one of the other gurus around here can tell you how..

If you're using Torque, then there are a couple of other apps you could try to get other codes. There's Chevrosys (free) and Car Gauge Pro (paid). Chevrosys should work for you.

Chevrosys didn't work, can't get passed the pay $59 page.
I've tried at least 15 other apps and none of them did anything more than Torque Pro without paying at least $50 and don't knowing what I'm buying.
