I am new to this site. Glad I found it, its been a great deal of help as of late. I've searched but can't find what I am looking for.

I cannot get my rear window washer to function. I can hear the pump running when I activate the washer switch, but get no fluid. The res. is full. The front wipers are sparying and running. I have a 2003 TB 4.2L What are some of the things that I can check?

Thanks,

Mike

The easy thing to check is if the nozzle is clogged. Since it is making noise does it sound strong or weak compared to the front one?

It sounded strong. I'll have to check the nozzle.

If checking the nozzle doesn't work, pull the cover from the inside of the tailgate and check the washer tubing for breaks or connections missing.

:iagree:

Or possibly clogged. I had the same issue with the tubing for the front windshield. Took it off and blew it out with air.

Pull the hose off on the outside and see if you get flow... if you don't and the pump is running, I bet you can guess where the fluid is going.

Well I guess I didn't look hard enough as it looked like the nozzle slide down a bit and was kinked. I moved it back up the arm and voila, I have washer fluid.

Funny, ours was disconnected up near the coolant bottle. We have been spraying washer fluid over the engine compartment for probably a good 6 months at least!
