Dropped Envoy off Tuesday morning, got the call last night that the leak was pinpointed to the rear main seal. Because of the time, and oversight they're going to drop the trans and replace both...
I've seen that at the dealership as well, during my brief service writer stint. I'm playing it safe, and requesting that the senior tech be the one to work on it this time. Oh I also need to...
The reason I warned about this, is that when I ran shops, I saw some mechanics that rushed to do a comeback and still created a problem. I had to let some of them go, if the problem was repeated...
I'm good buddies with the shop manager, texted him this morning after work and was told to drop her off Tuesday morning. Gonna let him know I want the work checked over by him each step of the...
Yeah it's a bizarre way of things unfolding right? Why would the ignition switch cause one of the fan speeds to stop working on the HVAC? Who knows. Everything I've read on here, and the old site...
That makes 2 of us, LOL. I consider myself reasonably competent at automotive 'electrical' as opposed to automotive 'electronics' where I get pretty lost in the woods. Things make some degree of...
Well that didn't take long, went to move the Envoy at work and saw a fresh spot of oil. Sure enough I get home, and see little droplets as it's running in the driveway. :Banghead:
Definitely, I'm going to keep an eye on it to make sure everything is good! I appreciate the heads up. My main concern was the fact they dropped it twice, so that helps with being on alert.
Keep a very close eye on the pan seal for any leaks. When a mechanic has to do a comeback, they can rush sometimes and skip some steps or not be very clean in the process.
Got the call this afternoon the Envoy was ready, headed down to the shop and yeah. The tech who reinstalled the pick up tube, indeed pinched the o-ring causing it to not seal. So they replaced it...
I understand the frustration, it's an annoying thing to deal with. Just figured I'd throw out changing the switch again, looking through prior threads dating a few years back. Those who had issues...
With a scan tool, did your truck pull any codes regarding the ABS, and Brake warnings lights? I had a very similar problem with my Envoy. I'd have a phantom ABS/Brake light pop on on startup, or...
If your tune also included a delete of the codes for the EV fan clutch, you could get a regular thermal clutch for a 2008. The EV clutches are so bad that even GM went back to the old fashion...
Mine was still good at 193k, other then the fuel sending unit taking a crap. Ended up getting a BOSCH unit and its been rock solid ever since. Its been found that the AC Delco pumps are just...
They are legit, customer service/communication is on the meh side to be honest. I've had better service using GM Parts Direct. Why not just go with a universal CAT from Walker or Magnaflow and...
Back after almost a year of dealing with health and family issues.
Had the Envoy put into storage after the oil leak got worse. Found the oil pan was leaking at the rear of the block, so I...
